I still have troubles with uploading a file or an image. The “uploads” directory is writable but WordPress still complains about a not writable directory. I can get it that wp creates a subdirectory but then it complains this subdir is also not writable.
Very strange because in 1.5 Uploading works fine without a problem.
The is_preview() template tag is broken.
The “Post Preview” function doesn’t work for me all I get is an error message:
“Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.”
Stephen, that’s probably a problem with your theme, rather than WordPress. Make sure you aren’t pulling any funny business in your theme.
Stephen, are you using the Permalink Redirect plugin? If so, make sure you upgrade to 0.4.2.
Back on topic, my biggest annoyances have to do with uploading. The way the image browser is coded, if you use an apostrophe in the title of an image it will produce broken JavaScript code, making it impossible to place the image in your post. A bit easier to work around is the fact that posting the original image will add width and height attributes… with the thumbnail’s size. It’s easy enough to delete the attributes, but still a pain. I’ve reported these as bug 2198 and bug 2199.
On my site (using the current K2 as theme) permalinks are broken, so I switched back to the ? notation. I did get a WP internal 404 with the custom /archives/%postname% version – the basic ? notation just gives me the home page / i.e. index.php
Is there any way to disable the damn preview? I save often while writing and its really annoying.

I’m new to wordpress, and just learning the ropes. I came across your blog while looking for a solutions to a problem I’m facing in wordpress 2.0. Everytime I try to use bold, italics, or strike-through (the ones I’ve tried that didn’t work for me) by highlighting the text and clicking on one of the above buttons in the wordpress editor, it does not peform the function. I wasn’t sure if this was a bug, or a problem with my set up.
